| Claudia Joskowicz is a Bolivian-American artist living and working in Brooklyn, NY. She received her MFA from New York University. Joskowicz has had solo exhibitions at Momenta Art Gallery in New York and Lawndale Art Center (Fotofest 02) in Texas; upcoming solo exhibitions include the Museo Nacional de Arte in La Paz and Galería Kiosko in Santa Cruz, Bolivia. She has exhibited most recently at Sara Meltzer Gallery, Kinz, Tillou + Feigen Gallery, LMAK Projects, Center for Book Arts, Socrates Sculpture Park, Artists Space, Exit Art in New York, the McDonough Museum of Art in Ohio, and Dukwon Gallery in Seoul, Korea in a special project of the 4th Seoul International Media Art Biennale. Joskowicz has had screenings at the Palacio Portales (Fundación Patiño) in Cochabamba, Bolivia, and the Reel Venus Film Festival in New York. Her works have been also shown at El Museo del Barrio, The Bronx Museum of the Arts in New York, Galerie Chez Valentin in Paris, the Soap Factory in Minneapolis and the Dallas Contemporary in Texas. She was an artist in residence at the Lower Manhattan Cultural Council’s Woolworth Building Residency, a resident in the AIM program at the Bronx Museum of the Arts, has received a fellowship from the Vermont Studio Center, a grant from Exit Art Gallery. the grand prize in the Digital Photography Salon by the Fundación Patiño in Cochabamba, Bolivia and a Urban Artists Initiative Fellowship in 2008. Joskowicz currently teaches in the Art Department at New York University and is represented by Punto Gris Arte Contemporaneo in San Juan, Puerto Rico. |
